Good Morning.
Time to update, I've been pretty busy in the garden for the last few weeks, having a complete sort out. My books are selling pretty steadily although some weeks are better than others. I still have a couple of books partly finished, one a thriller the other hist/fic set during WW1. Can't make up my mind which to continue with. I have accumulated almost 900 friends on Goodreads and trying to figure out how to navigate these sites as they seem to leave me cold. However i love to become involved in the discussions, a great way to learn about writing and how other authors approach the subject. Some state they outline a plan and stick to it. I can't write to such a strict regime, I select my subject, get a brief idea where i want to go and let the words write the book. It seems to work for me, so perhaps I'm lucky and I can write a book in as long as it takes me to put the words down. Of course i re-read approx half a dozen times before sending to an editor. And there can ly a big problem, I have paid substantial amounts of money to so called editors who return the work 3-4 weeks later and I end up with a glorified proofread and nothing else. Although I appreciate it, it does grieve me when readers e-mail me pointing out editorial errors, I think i have failed them and taken their money on false pretences, three times i have had to re-edit. Then again I must be doing something right judging by the reviews. I will seek beta readers in future. Well thats all for now folks, Tommy, my cocker spaniel is panting for his morning walk so its time the brave the chilly summer weather. Ta
