Hi, its Easter Friday and we have snow on the ground and biting winds here in the UK. Called the local radio station yesterday begging for a spot to promote my book. They seemed very upbeat and said they will contact me later with a date, oh yeah. Said my age help rustle up interest as I'm a pensioner, just can't keep us golden oldies down. I'm trying to work three books at once and must make a decision which one to stick with. Sent off the forms for Public Lending Rights, I get 6.20p each time my book is borrowed from the libraries, I must ask if they also accept self published work. I have just received ten 'Hidden in Plain View' paperbacks from createspace from the US, do you know it takes 5-6 weeks to arrive in the UK.Thing is, I can make £3.00 per book . Ten sales normally result in more sales along with a signature. i also have some elderly friends who borrow my kindle for 6 days and download my books for £2.00 a time, every little helps. Looked at a couple of books by R. J. Dillon a thriller writer. They look pretty good and I'm looking forward to reading those and leaving a review, no I don't him but I do love to read as well as write. Thats it for the time folk, have a Happy Easter, enjoy those choc eggs and watch the calories. Take care.
Hi everyone, i have been pretty busy of late and neglected my blog, apologies. My new thriller 'Hidden in Plain View' has taken off okay in the UK which is good news. My other three books are ticking over nicely, no sign of a Rolls yet. I sent 'The Dancing Boy' off to an American publisher after he followed me on twitter, have to wait sometime before I hear from that gentleman. I don't know whether anyone has checked but I received a great 5* review for 'Hidden' which prompted two .com readers to place the book on their TBR list, all helps. My UK reviews are still being attacked by the trolls and marked as 'unhelpful' after a I had a run in with them sometime ago, saddo's, I reckon the truth hurt them big-time. It doesn't bother me, but I feel for the honest reader who gives an honest opinion only to be attacked by these dick-heads. i read in a UK newspaper of a guy so incensed by trolls he went out of his way to track down the culprit and found him. Apparently the troll pooed his pants and apologised when faced, that figures. Might consider doing that myself.
Discovered yesterday that 'Coming Home is in many northern UK libraries and one has 5 copies out on loan so i checked with Public Lending Rights and I'm due for royalties for each loan. Got my head together now and I am continuing with a follow-up to 'Hidden.' Over five thousand words already and I'm happy with it, for the time being. Well thats it for the time being folks, take care and drop me a line if you want to chat about my books, or anything. Bye. Sunday today. I have spent the last few days promoting 'Hidden in Plain View' in the US with no luck. Perhaps they don't like Brit followers, can't say I blame them with all the goood thriller writers they have. I shall keep on trying though, cos the book is selling in the UK. I am going to work on my biography and try to bring it up to scratch and ready for an edit. God, it reads like a cross between a horror story and a slapstick comedy, they say fact is sometimes stranger than fiction. Speak later.
