I expect to release 'Echoes of Madness in February. A story set during WW1 it is self published and edited by a pro paid for out of my pocket. I shall keep you posted of the outcome of my dispute with my publisher, such a shame.
After months of repeatedly asking my publisher to amend the mistakes occurred during their edit of 'Coming Home', and receiving no response I have contacted the Society of Authors and ask them to act on my behalf. This to me, is another reason to self publish rather than allow a third party control of years of hard work. Reviews for poor writing I accept and attempt to get better myself, poor grammar, spelling mistakes I do not.

Hi,
At last, Echoes of Madness is finished and in the hands of a very good proof-reader before a final run through and edit. The cover has been designed and is available to see on my Facebook page should anyone care to look. Should still be on target for release in February with a bit of luck. I have decided to veer away from the heavy stuff and try something a little more light-hearted, I'm 3,600 words into a tale of two pensioners trying to get it together. He is a tough ex-butcher and she is a refined lady who likes to act above her station at times, plenty of laughs and very down to earth. I am enjoying writing this one, it seems easier to be funny than always serious. Had a few more poor reviews for 'Coming Home' strange they all came at the same time. I had an e-mail from a reader in Scotland who took the book out of his library, he said it was one of the best books he'd ever read and would post a review on Amazon. I asked for his address and promised to send him a signed copy of 'Echoes of Madness.' Events like this make writing a pleasure. Well that's all folks, take care and speak soon. May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year. God Bless.
I had good news a couple of days ago, 'Coming Home' is going audio and into large print to be distributed into libraries nationwide.
Hi, hope you are well.
A reader of 'Coming Home' has kindly left a one star review and posted a whole load of untruths about the facts I carefully researched during writing this book. I'm not perfect and I can take criticism for errors as well as the next, occupational hazzard, but to state porkies is something else. Perhaps he or she should have a word with my publisher, Pen & Sword one of the largest publishers of military history in the country. I'm waiting to hear from them. Although he did point out one minor error to his credit. No good crying over spilt milk. Echoes of Madness is well on the way to completion and I'm waiting for a friend to complete a cover for the book. Tha I am still slaving away on' Echoes of Madness' and have to admit I am beginning to like what I see, and that's saying something coming from me as I'm extremely self critical. I should spend more time ineracting but always seem to be writing. I have 43,000 words of a follow up to 'Hidden in Plain View, waiting to be finished, this the second book of a thriller trilogy. I haven't gotten round to a title yet but that isn't a problem cos i listen to people on TV and pick up the odd title from their remarks. Had some decent sales last month which is always pleasing, so glad to know readers appreciate my stuff, I try my best to please. Oh, and Twitter are allowing me to follow new accounts afterI deleted a bundle, although I don't really see the point.
Well thats it folks, see you soon and tak My thanks to Mr David Cross for pointing out busses used on thewestern front to transport soldiers were fuelled with petrol and not diesel. Myself and three editor missed this in 'Coming Home'
Hi,
Been so busy lately I've hardly had time to update my blog. I sold my first book in India recently, 'The Dancing Boy, so I'm over the moon. Well winters on the way and we have had the central heating overhauled and power flushed ready for the price hikes for gas & electricity. Spent a lot of time on the garden this year and its looking good. A couple of weeks ago out of the blue I received an e'mail from an unknown 2nd cousin who has traced the Stolworthy family tree back as far as the 17th century. i knew little of my father so it came as quite a shock to see photos of past relationships, we are having a reunion in November. One of the first things I did when i learned how to use a computor was write my bio. A traditional publisher offered to publish the work but at the last moment i pulled out. My past life has been quite eventful, and I decided to leave the past buried and not rake up so many bad memories. Whoops, what am i saying, I'm happy with my life, I'm happy with my writing, I'm happy if you enjoy my writing, why let others upset me . My partner Janice and i enjoyed a break on the Suffolk coast at a small place called Kessingland, two minutes from the sea and we passed the pub on the way, great for a drink and meal. I saw a sign saying Rider Haggard Lane and made enquiries. Rider Haggard was the author of King Solomons Mines and lived in a cottage close to the sea where he rode out every day, i couldnt find the cottage though, shame. My new book 'Echoes Of Madness' set during 1916-18 is well on the way to completion, then the editing and hard graft begins. i would like to release this book next year, the 100th anniversary of WW1. Well, Tommy my cocker spaniel is giving me the evil eye for his walk. Good talking to you, take care and god bless Here we go, I'll try again, sorry about the glitch folks and lets hope we are back to normal. I have been working on a new novel set during 1916 and i'm pleased so far, 40,000 words in the bag, halfway. With a new and excellent editor i am confident readers of historical fiction will enjoy the read. My last book in this genre 'Coming Home' is selling very very well. This one I might self publish, and retain control on what basically is mine. I'm considering doing a one day freebie for Hidden in Plain View sometime in Sept, I would like to try my luck in Brazil, India, Canada, Japan and Spain and perhaps the way in is with a freebie. If anyone has advice on this please let me know. Oh, and I'm back on Twitter after losing 13,000 followers, apparently I'm only allowed to follow approx 2,000 due to increased accounts and twitter are struggling to manage. So If you follow me and I don't respond it isn't my fault. See you after my break and please take a look at my work, thank you and take care.
